LANSING, Mich. — State Representative Gina Johnsen (R-Portland) announced she is serving as a member of the newly formed Michigan DOGE Task Force, a House Republican initiative modeled after the federal Department of Government Efficiency and focused on cutting government waste, reducing bureaucracy, and restoring accountability in Lansing.

The task force, chaired by State Representative James DeSana, was created to take a closer look at how state government operates, identify inefficiencies, and push back against a system that too often grows larger, slower, and less accountable to taxpayers.

Michigan residents who wish to learn more about the task force or submit confidential tips, suggestions, or reports are encouraged to visit midoge.us or contact [email protected].

“Too many people are stealing from this system and using the system for their own advantage selfishly. By identifying fraud, waste, and abuse, we will have more than enough resources to do a better job taking care of those who are truly needy. That has always been a Republican focus,” Johnsen said.

The Michigan DOGE Task Force will review state agencies, spending practices, and regulatory structures to identify duplication, waste, and unnecessary barriers that drive up costs for taxpayers and small businesses. The goal is to advance practical reforms that make government smaller, leaner, and more accountable to the people it serves.

Additional information will be shared as the task force continues its work.
